Endurance Levels Predict Health of Gut Bacteria

One of the most important steps towards maintaining a healthy gut microbiome and digestive system may be to maintain high endurance levels.

A new study in the journal “Experimental Physiology” involved researchers assessing the endurance levels and diversity of gut bacteria in 37 subjects. Subjects with superior cardiorespiratory endurance displayed a greater diversity of gut bacteria, indicating superior digestive health.

Conclusions

Maintaining high endurance levels may be key for promoting an optimal gut microbiome and digestive health.
